“Perched 600m above the Pacific Ocean, with views spanning up to the Mahia Peninsula, sits Te Aratipi. An inspiring story stemmed from a covid project, now a labour of love. This beautiful cabin is Hawkes Bays newest (and greenest) accomodation.”

About

Nestled amongst native remnant bush, Te Aratipi, is perched 600m high above the Pacific ocean. With views spanning up to the Mahia peninsula and down to the Ruahines, Kawekas and even the Manawhatu gorge, this remote dual-cabin set up is the perfect escape.

Te Aratipi is off grid and comprised of a mixture of new and salvaged farm materials. Ed and Ro wanted to create an old-fashioned back country hut for family and friends to enjoy along with a small number of outside stays each season.

Guests are whisked up to the cabins by a Can-am to ‘the top of the world’. Once there, you’ll find yourselves spoilt with choice over the outdoor bath, the swing hammock or the infinity deck to kick your feet up and watch the world go by. Bliss.

Key Information

Duel sleeping cabin with comfy queen bed, premium linen, towels and robes. A kitchen with gas hobs, hot running water, Weber BBQ, and everything you need to prepare and cook great food. A UE Boom for you to enjoy your favourite music and one solar charger for you to charge up your phone (if you choose to bring one). A private hot shower with a view and not to mention, big enough for two. An outdoor fire ‘trough bath’.

Travel Note

Explore the native remnant bush, farm and limestone plateau by foot, watch numerous native birds fly by, look out over the vast ocean, count sheep, play board/outdoor games, read a book, doze in a hammock and star gaze the night away. If you’re feeling extra fancy, book a helicopter ride to Craggy Winery before heading up to your stay!
