Nestled into the expansive Otorohanga countryside Orchard Valley provides a luxurious space to escape from everyday life. Our bespoke safari tent overlooks an orchard dotted with kiwifruit vines, allowing you to disconnect and detox from the outside world. Wake up and soak in the majestic sunrise from the deck while overlooking fields blanketed in green, and listen to the morning song of native birds. We invite you to sit back, relax and revel in our little slice of paradise.

Key Information

On arrival you’ll receive our welcome pack which features compostable slippers, bamboo toothbrushes… and even a deluxe s’more making kit! For a light breakfast, enjoy our fresh bread, free range eggs, milk and juice. Tea and coffee is provided but make sure to bring extra food for your stay if you don’t plan on sampling any of the local cuisine. Inside you’ll see we’ve handpicked plant and mineral based products from Eco Store including shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soaps and dishwashing liquid. And in line with our endeavor to keep their footprint as small as possible, you’ll find an eco-friendly dwelling with solar power, a flushing composting toilet, ethanol burning fire and compostable bin liners.

Travel Note

Whether you decide to bunker down in style and not leave the premises, or check out the local attractions you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you do decide to tear yourself away from this idyllic setting it is only a short 12-minute drive to Waitomo. Once there you can get on the tourist beat and check out the glow worm caves and black water rafting. Peruse the local boutiques and eateries of our closest town of Otorohanga, visit our native bird at the Otorohanga Kiwi House or simply head out for a morning coffee – we recommend The Fat Kiwi for a creamy coconut flat white!
