“When coming up through the West Coast of the North Island, theres a turn off called Donnelly’s Crossing. Here you'll find yourself entering old lands. Old Kauri swamps and gravel roads guide your way till you see the beacon to enter Wild Forest Estate. A large red flag.”
About
The 110 year old Historic Kauri Bushman's Cottage is self-contained and attached to the main house. It’s located next to a beautiful stream and surrounded by native forest. The Cottage is self contained with its own private outdoor BBQ area and garden. It's a relaxing and comfortable space thoughtfully put together with 100% linen bedding / curtains / and velvet cushions. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway for two, and can comfortably accommodate four.
Because their philosophy is centred around permaculture and rewilding, they ask that you take your non-compostable rubbish with you (otherwise it is transported to Dargaville where it is transferred and taken to Whangarei to be placed in a land fill - not cool).
Key Information
It features a large private and covered outdoor bbq area with a Weber BBQ and luxurious daybed. Large outdoor BBQ area with a 62m lawn and swing seat by stream. Ideal getaway we say.
Travel Note
Wild Forest Estate is located 3 hours North of Auckland, on the west coast. Surrounded by some of the top must-see visits in New Zealand - this is the perfect destination stay. A kiwi sanctuary is just around the corner and also New Zealand’s longest drivable beach, Aranga Beach - all 109km of it!
